If your cats were big enough they'd eat you.

Lets see , the wild life was there first ,
you moved there for what reason ?
Now you want to change the world it was to be what, the city again?
I live in wine country , and there are rabbets and birds all over the place including coyote and bobcats .
Yes , it cost something to live here but they have their place on this earth as well. If you are going to leave food out they will come get it . (pets are food )
I have lost chickens and geese and dogs as well, but those animals that behave me stay alive ,and those that do not, are cat food.
I have protected areas my animals know to go , and are safe . I made automatic doors so at a set time at nite the for closes. Nothing has ever broken in that door.
Knowing there are coyotes and other predators out at nite I wonder out there armed and with a flash light and motion sensor lights around the house.
Motion sensor lights work , if you get them and use them .
They also detour 2 legged predators as well.
