Lou Dobbs is not a credible source on illegal immigration and it's impact on our society. The "facts" in the emails and Facebook posts some of you are quoting came from some of his shows and many are incorrect. Whether you like it or not, a child born in the US is a citizen. She may legally receive public assistance for food same as your child should she need it. Her illegal mother or father or both are likely to be working on bogus documents paying income tax and contributing social security that will never be paid back to them. They are definitely paying sales tax on their purchases. These people are humans seeking a better life and the threat to you from their presence is highly overstated. One banker in a five thousand dollar suit costs you more than all the illegals. You have more to fear from your redneck neighbor's meth lab.

Hey --- what's all this BS about illegal immigrants?? I thought this was the
"It's snowing so I want to move to Florida" thread!
So we've had a lot of snow storms and some God-awful arctic temps in the NE. It snowed again last night and we're predicted to get another nasty hit on Thursday the 13th - just in time for Valentine's Day and the weekend. (Predicted= 4 to 8 inches with the possibility for significant accumulation). I have to keep telling myself that it can always be worse --- sometimes, MUCH worse. Exactly one year ago, the NE was paralyzed by a blizzard that dumped a record 38 inches in my CT town. Seriously...38 inches. I never, ever, ever want to go through that again. This time next year, we will be actually living in Florida.
I cannot wait!
