I was surprised by the number of folks from California and Idaho, but, I've heard that there is lot of migration OUT of California. Since the site was geared toward selling tickets or something, I lost interest about halfway through.

It would be difficult to prove and very time consuming but I'll bet if there was a voter registration vetting, you'd find many people in Palm Beach Co. who vote in FL and NY

Yea most of the people from Cali are moving to Nevada and ruining that state just like they did their own. Same with people from the Northeast to FL.

People in general are like locusts destroying everything in their path and moving on to the next place to ruin. Like Agent Smith in the Matrix said: "Humans are a virus".

I'm 55, live in the suburbs of New York City, and don't know anyone my age, or know anyone who knows anyone my age, who desires to become a full-time resident of Florida. Seems as if it was the pre-baby boomers who thought Florida was Nirvana. So I'm wondering if this rate of movement will start declining.

I am not putting down Florida. I'm just reporting what I know. And when I retire, I do plan to be a Floridian in January and February.

Should be interesting to see what the numbers are like for 2014, considering how nasty the weather has been up north.

I'd also be interested in seeing who's moving into other Florida counties. I worked part-time in Stuart for a few years and it seemed like there was a large Ohio and Pennsylvania presence, along with New York and New Jersey. And my guess is the numbers of people from Midwestern states moving to areas like Sarasota and Fort Myers are very similar to the New York/New Jersey migration into Palm Beach County.

I think Florida is not a top retirement destination anymore, dont get me wrong it is still a destination for many, but alot of Floridas population is due to immigrants, and professionals. A lot of New Yorkers that I know said they prefer North Carolina, but some wouldnt mind moving to FL either.
