Where would you suggest someone who wants to be in sales/marketing related field and also wants a safe place to raise a family?

The Jacksonville metro area. Jacksonville is rebounding pretty well economically, has the second highest median salary in the state, the lowest cost of living of the major metros in Florida and very good school districts in the suburbs with St John's County (#1 in the state out of 67 counties), Nassau County (#13) and Clay County (#12), a couple of good choices in Jacksonville itself with some standouts like Paxson HS and Stanton Prep HS (both public and both Top 10 high schools in the state) and Jacksonville Bolles which is a prestigious private school that has grades PK-12. Jacksonville also has the least risk for hurricanes which is a plus for many, as well as comparatively low homeowners insurance as a result.

South Florida (West Palm Beach to Miami)... lots of jobs within a relatively close range. I would live around Weston, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Wellington.

South FL for raising a family? Seriously?

Op should stick to jax, Seminole, brevard county or Sarasota area if public schools and family friendly areas are a priority

The central Brevard County area gets our family of fives vote. The N. Melbourne, Suntree, Viera and beachside areas from Cocoa Beach down through Melbourne Beach are very family friendly, have great schools (in the top ten statewide) and are close to everything that Florida has to offer.

I would never raise a family in Jax or Sarasota. However, I'm not a Conservative Republican.

You can't get any nicer than Boca Raton or Weston for raising a family. They have amazing schools, extremely safe, open-minded, nice restaurants, good shopping and near multiple major cities for jobs.

Florida Vince

Thanks so much for adding your blog link. We are hoping to make a move in August with our family of four from the Midwest to Southern Florida (most likely Jupiter) because we have family there. We are coming down for a visit next month to try and line up jobs and get acquainted with the area. The activities that you have shared on your blog are so helpful!! We are wanting to enjoy the Fl life with our family to the fullest "on a budget". I will continue to check your blog for fun ideas.

Those aren't conservative republican areas. Jax may lean conservative more than other big cities but it's still moderate overall as is Sarasota. In fact FL breaks down pretty well between red, purple and blue between north central and south FL

The culture is very different than South Florida, at least from my experience. It's not as open-minded and exposed when it comes to ethnic food, traveling, cultures etc. Once again, this is just my two cents.
