Driver calls 911 to complain about traffic ticket

COLLIER COUNTY, FL -
A Collier County Deputy pulled over 29-year-old Judes Exantus of Immokalee for running a stop sign during a turn at Boston Avenue and 9th Street.
Exantus denied running through the stop sign but the deputy told him he watched him do it according to the report.
The deputy said Exantus started arguing with deputy and while the deputy was writing up the ticket, Exantus called the 9-1-1 center to complain about the deputy's delay.
The deputy admitted there was a delay created by the apparatus that creates the ticket however the call to 9-1-1 to complain warranted a miss-use of 9-1-1.....

PORT ST. lUCIE, Fla. —A Port St. Lucie man with a foot fetish is snatching socks.

On Friday, police arrested Robert Van Wagner for robbery after he allegedly took a young girl's socks the day before.

• Police said the girl was walking home from cheerleading practice at Sportsmans Park with her socks in her hands when Van Wagner approached her and asked her to hand them over.
  
  According to a police report, Van Wagner begged and pleaded for the socks until he had the young girl cornered.
  
  "She was backed up into a car," said Port St. Lucie police Sergeant Rod Dobler. "He actually forcibly took the socks from her and left the scene."
  
  He told her he needed the socks for a project, the arrest report said.
  
  Police noted that it’s not the first time the former Jensen Beach High School employee tried this excuse. He said the same thing to three adolescent girls two years ago.
  
  In 2012, Van Wagner was 33-years-old when Port St. Lucie police first arrested him for asking the three young girls to put on socks that he was carrying -- and then run in them.

Painful poisonous puss caterpillars

TAMPA (FOX 13) - As far as bugs go, caterpillars are usually pretty tame – except for one.
It's a fat, furry caterpillar that is popping up in trees across Florida, and it's known as the "puss caterpillar," or Megalopyge opercularis.
But whatever you do, do not touch this bug. Stay away from it, scientists say.
Its fur is actually covered in venom. Doctors from the University of Florida say the second you touch this caterpillar you feel instant, intense pain.
The pain is worse than a bee, jellyfish, or scorpion, and it can also cause vomiting and convulsions.
Doctors say be aware of them while working outdoors because they are known to fall out of trees.

lets not even begin to compare road rage incidents in NC vs FL. did you hear about the pastor in S FL that got shot in the head for accidentally cutting someone off on I95? what was that, like a few weeks ago? plus all the other ones? sorry SH, but FL is a completely different animal.

Florida is crazy for two main reasons, the heat and the number of people with untreated mental illnesses because of Florida's bad healthcare system. The government in Florida seems to like to keep poor crazy people crazy because Governor Scott has repeatedly worked to block people in Florida from having access to national health care insurance while he has spent Florida taxpayer money trying to block Florida taxpayers from being able to get that insurance.

In regard to the heat, study after study has shown how people become more aggressive and irritable when the temperatures rise and Florida is a very hot and humid state and is becoming increasingly so as cold snaps and cooler winter temperatures are quickly becoming a thing of the past in Florida due to Global Warming. Couple an increase in heat induced aggression with the state of Florida having the 3rd highest number of long term unemployed of any state in the U.S. along with nearly always ending up near the bottom of a list of states providing social services to it's population and one can see how it doesn't take much to push people with untreated mental illness out of the realm of being balanced and rational and into the dark zone when they feel cornered by financial stresses and are faced with a cold hearted state government that's left them no place to turn to for help.
