I try to read between the lines and sort the truth from the nonsense.
I've been looking to get away from the lunacy and bitterness of the North East but it seems like Florida may not be *that* much better(probably due to the amount of northern transplants that have had a negative affect). I've always had a fondness for Florida, visited plenty of times but visiting and actually living there are totally different.

I agree. Visiting and living somewhere are very different. The lunacy and bitterness is in no way limited to NY transplants. There are many bitter people in FL mostly those who have been priced out of decent housing, only have enough skills and knowledge to eek our a living.
