Someone is obsessed with people who move to Florida and hate it. If you're enjoying life, who cares? Get in the pool, go fishing, do what you do. Enjoy! Muah...

Moved from North NJ it will be 9 years in July. My regret is that I didn't move here sooner. I love Florida. No snow, quieter, better neighborhoods, lower rent and home prices and property taxes. Broward county was too expensive so moved to the west coast of FL in Lee County, bought a home and have owned it a year and 3 days. It was always my dream to move here, best decision I ever made.

So glad we made the move from NJ 9 months ago!
Yes, wages are lower, but we feel our quality of life is much better, we're able to be outdoors more, and are getting that much needed vitamin D! It feels more laid back, people are more open. Instead of being cut off left and right on the road, it's so weird to have people waiting for you to go 1st, even though THEY have priority (not everywhere or all the time, but it's happened quite enough for us to notice!).

We moved in Sept 16, it was planned for a long time. We had 3 exploratory visits, and then upon arrival had a rental. Chose to build and still in the rental! We are still adjusting, but our sense is that we made a good decision. Financially it was a no brainer. Socially, we are finding our way. We will live in Ormond Beach area, it suites us. One of our goals was to be able to travel north without breaking the bank or spending all day in airports, or choose to drive and enjoy the ride. Originally from wny, we suffered through winters- moved to cali to finish careers- and that is when we said no more winter for us. Good weather most of the time = better quality of life.

Where is it in FL that you live, Lol???

Because having lived in SE FL and Tampa, we have yet to experience anybody that seems to know the rules to the road-- much less a considerate driver!!! Lol.

No kidding!
Someone used their blinkers the other day and I wanted to send them a "Thank You" card!

Omg, that's hilarious... When we were traveling I-75 Saturday four cars ahead of us changing lanes ALL used their blinkers... I about had a heart attack. My kids sat in the back seat and clapped- no lie!!! We couldn't believe it.

Maybe more people read the CD forums than we think, ha ha ha.

Too funny!!!
As pathetic as it sounds... we should start a "use your blinkers" movement!
