It depends on what you're looking for. My sister, her husband and two daughters lived there for a few years. Her biggest complaint was that it was far away from everything. She felt a little isolated and that she would have to drive 45 minutes to the city to do activities and such. She now lives in a historical area of Orlando, a LOT more to do...great area, IMO.

As far as daily shopping, groceries, housewares etc, that's all within Clermont. They have Publixes, Target, Wal-Marts in Clermont. But if you're looking for more specialized items, or clothes you may have drive 30 mins or more into Orlando. Most entertainment options are in Orlando as well, not that Clermont doesn't have their own options but if you want more variety you will likely have to do some driving. Clermont really is more of a bedroom community where people move to get away from the city. However it is very beautiful and has great natural activities and golf.

I used to love driving through Clermont when I was a kid. IMO it was one of the most beautiful parts of Florida with the rolling hills. My only complaint is since all the houses went up, it has kinda ruined the countryside.

There is plenty of shopping in Clermont, including JC Penney, Ross, Marsalls, Michaels, Dicks Sporting Goods, etc. It's a 15 minute drive to Winter Garden Village. We are getting a Trader Joes in a few months.

We live in Clermont too. Good schools, low crime, and I personally like being away from the action--the tourist drivers alone are enough to drive me nuts.

Unfortunately, we are moving to Kentucky for family reasons, and hate to be selling our home. That said, it was a great place to live and a little quieter and slower than DISNEY! UNIVERSAL! all the time.
