Need to find an area with good schools, safe neighborhood. How is FishHawk Ranch?

I grew up in that area (my parents still have a house in River Hills, literally 3 mins up on Litha Pinecrest) and I can tell you that FishHawk Ranch is kind of like the "new" New Tampa. Location is kind of remote, but the area has everything you need. Newsome High School has become THE premiere high school in the brandon area (used to be Bloomingdale), and i'm assuming the middle school right next door to it is good too.

I like the new ParkSquare that it has.. GREAT for families. I think they do things like have movies on weekends for the kids, as well as a place to get your haircut and get some ice cream

Thumbs up Good area

I'm going to give credit to Wesley Chapel in Pasco county. Good schools and most are in the communities. The children aren't bussed across the county.

I live in Meadow Pointe. The schools are in the community, with more being built.

I was up in Wesley Chapel area, and it is pretty nice. However, i see it more of just the New Tampa spillover. regardless, these are the types of communities that I like. What gives WC the advantage over Fishhawk would be the easy access onto I-75. without traffic, i was in downtown tampa in 30 mins easily. that was from the time i got into my car to the time i was passing one of the downtown exits. for someone who was born in brandon and raised in south brandon (valrico/lithia/fishhawk area), the brandon traffic can be a pain. driving through those lights just to jump on the crosstown can be a burden at times. i like how from WC, you just hop on the interstate and GO.

Except that the cost of homes and taxes are less and the commercial side is growing.
