For those that make a decent living, Florida is paradise. Where I currently live the unemployment rate is 4.5% in Orange County, FL the unemployment rate is 5.3%. What those numbers fail to produce is the rate in which people are under-employed. The economy here is booming and most jobs are full-time jobs. From what I've heard (and it's just hear-say as far as that goes) that a majority of jobs available in Florida are part time and don't pay adequate wages.

I think for the right amount of money, people stop caring about terrible traffic, extreme weather, and crime.
I have to disagree with this statement. I made a good living in Florida and couldn't wait to leave.

Radiologists graduate from accredited medical schools, pass a licensing examination, and then go on to complete a residency of at least four years of unique post-graduate medical education

I think they make more than $26.13 per hour.
We've already established that my cousin is a Radiologist, not a Radiologist tech as SH would like for him to be so his "point" is validated, which of course it isn't.

Obviously, you have to WANT to live there in the first place for it to be paradise.

My point was that those people that move to Florida expecting it to be paradise will only see it that way if they earn a decent wage. People that move to Florida thinking everyday will start with a swim at the beach, followed by a round of golf, a trip to Disney, and finishing the evening with a nice glass of Brandi out on the lanai and earn $8.50/hr will end up miserable.

Agree 110%! Lived here two months, and hate it. Except the heat, I’m good with that one.

E: Excessive and oppressive taxes, the highest in the country.

W: Weather that sucks. New York doesn't really have four seasons, it essentially has two seasons. They are...Season 1: uncomfortably cold; and Season 2: uncomfortably hot.

Y: Yuck...the streets are filled with garbage and there's medical waste washing up on the beaches.

O: Oppressive property taxes...see letter "E".

R: Roads that are crumbling, despite the excessive and oppressive taxes...see letters "E" and "O".

K: Knowledge that New York is one of the worst places in the nation is what drives record numbers of New Yorkers to flee the state--for places like Florida (among others). There's a reason New York keeps losing all those House seats and electoral votes and all that income...and continues to decay. There's a reason why New York had the biggest migration exodus of any state in the nation according to the 2010 census...see letters "N" through "R".
You are confused, or sadly mistaken regarding NY weather. New York STATE, west of that **** hole everyone thinks all NY is, has the epitome of 4 beautiful seasons.

Must be something right about it.
They’re only coming here to escape oppressive, control freak, taxed to death, nanny state, demo rat policies. Florida merely sucks a little less than the North East, and certain parts west.
They aren’t “pro Florida,” they are anti “blue state” politics. They sure as hell aren’t coming to Fla for the low paying jobs, lunatic drivers, rude narcissistic people, or to enjoy the ever overflowing “diversity.”
