It says it's $850 a month for a 2br beachside apt with all utilities included. Is rent really that low in Daytona Beach? The reason I'm wondering is because I'm not from Daytona Beach and I know in a lot of places in this country that would be too cheap to be real. If you really can get that good of a deal in Daytona Beach, that's awsome!

You sure that's not per WEEK? (You didn't include a link so we can't check ...)

Scam or total dump with hookers in the driveway and drive by's at 2:00 am, not to mention the dope dealer next door.

Just a couple of thoughts: "Daytona Beach" doesn't mean the rental is located near the actual 'beach.'; 2-Bedroom doesn't necessarily mean the place is over 900 sf or that the 'bedrooms' are large enough for more than a single bed ... or even functional bedroooms'; there are a large number of mobile home/trailer parks in the area; C/L 'rentals' are purely a "buyer beware" proposition.

With no information about the age, location or condition of the unit, the answer is, "Yes, of course you can rent something with two or more rooms in Daytona Beach for $800 or even LESS" -

OP wrote "beachside" so I thought it was, well, beachside.

Up here summer rentals on the beach are usually weekly and they are what most people would consider MONTHLY rents elsewhere.

On the other hand, you can sometimes find pockets of safe but somewhat dingy areas fairly close to the beach where short term rentals aren't allowed. When we moved down here in the late 90s, we spent a few years in one of those kinds of places where our decent-sized $615/month two bedroom (I'm still trying to forget the horrors of that carpet) was literally across the street from beachfront condos renting for $250+ per night and a block from a nice public beach access.

Only rent those kinds of places after driving through the area at 10pm on a Friday night, check and make sure the person you're renting from is the actual owner, and get a full crime report on the area in question, but if you really want to live in walking distance to the beach, it's worth doing a bit of due diligence. If you're young and are willing to put up with a bit of mold and mildew, might as well check it out.

I rented a 750 sq ft. 2 bedroom apartment with everything included (even cable) but just not electric for 800 and it was 2 blocks from the beach. High tech applicances, 2 bathrooms, central air, filtered water/ice in the fridge door. It was a steal, I thought, so it's totally possible. When I left, she upped it to 850.

That is anywhere in Florida coastal areas or tourist areas but not just during the summer. If you can find anything for less than $900 a week it is an amazing deal. Then in the winter if you want a warm pool you pay extra for the pool to be heated.

Beachside for Daytona Beach may just refer to over the causeway to the East and not with a view of the ocean. Duh.....Just noticed the pictures. Beachside a few blocks from beach. Can't tell if it is apartment building, but thinking maybe in house with landlord in other section or above garage so all on same meter? Looks pretty descent with small rooms.
