We are purchasing a condo in Miramar Beach as a second home. Our intention is to use it up to 3 months a year and allow short term vacation rentals the rest of the time. Can anyone recommend any reputable property management companies? Thanks!

If you live within 6 hours of your vacation home, have you considered managing it yourself through VRBO?

We live in Dallas so I think the logistics of us managing it ourselves would be difficult. Ideally, we'd like to manage the rental aspect (via VRBO) and have a property manager in the area who can coordinate cleaning crews and any maintenance. Is this unrealistic?

Honestly I don't think so, what you are describing is not really a property manager. In fact being in the area I really don't know of a single one I would recommend, not even half way. I do agree being in Dallas doing it yourself is not realistic.
A property manager will charge anywhere from 20% up into 40%+ by the time you figure all the add-ons. Cleaning is the most difficult aspect due to the common practice of renting Saturday to Saturday. Everyone checks out at 10:00 and in by 3:00 so the crews have 5 hours to cover all the units they are responsible for. The rest of the week they have very little to do. It's tough doing any more than a lick and a promise in the limited window they have to work in. Craig's List is covered up with ads looking for cleaning people during the season.
