We just came home from a great parade in Coconut Grove (south Miami). It's a parody of different items that made the news in the past year (like Sen. Craig, MERSA, Brittney Spears, etc). It is the last Sunday of the year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Earnest Graham will be the grand marshal at the Edison Festival of Light Grand Parade in February, according to edisonfestival.org.

Graham, 27, is a 1998 Mariner High School graduate. (Cape Coral)

“Boy, when his name came up there was a positive vibe in the boardroom,” said David Campbell, a festival board member. “It was unanimous. We were looking for a kind of hometown hero, and he fits the bill.”

Graham finished this year’s regular season with 898 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns — the third-most touchdowns during a Bucs’ regular season.

The Edison Festival of Light has been named as one of North America’s top 100 events in the Southeast. It takes place from Jan. 26 through Feb. 17. The parade will be Feb. 16.

Default Broadway shows at Van Wezel in Sarasota

Coming to the Van Wezel:

Bill Cosby, Patti LaBelle, Frank Sinatra Jr. doing Frank, Ring of Fire, the music of Johnny Cash, Smokey Robinson, RENT, CHICAGO(musical)...just to name a few!

I'm trying to decide which one to go to if I could only do one! Need opinions....my best girlfriend says RENT.....it's coming from NY on tour...??

I'd gotten first row Carrot Top a few years back...he was THE BEST!

If you've never been this is one the best night time parades anywhere. I think attendance is usually in the hundreds of thousands.
