For those that mentioned how expensive house is in Gainesville, it's dropping. This is from a Real Estate agent I'm in contact with.

In 07 the avg. sale price was $222,386 (all homes and condos) and in 08 it was $211,111 or down 5% overall in selling price. However if you look at 4 bedroom homes (where most of the homes sold in that price range were from) the avg. went down from $376k to $325k or about 15% in selling price. Another newsworthy point is the Days On Market (DOM) went from 94 to 120 ($250k-$300k) and 72 to 97 ($300k-$400k). This is about a 25 day increase and reflects the state of the market as much as the avg. selling price. There were about 25% less homes sold in that price range as well.
