We are looking to find the perfect place in Florida to raise our children. I am a staying at home mom and my husband is working from home, so we have the choice where to live (which is nice). What we are looking for in a city:
beach nearby, great schools, family friendly (not only retirement), stuff nearby (restaurants, shops), things to do with the kids,....
We have already added Boca Raton and St John's county to our list. Any more recommendations?

If you enjoy a more Northeast US version of a progressive and sophisticated place to live Boca Raton certainly is a good fit for family friendly with good schools. St John's County while nice could be an adjustment from what you're used to. If Boca Raton is more your realm, check out places like Weston, Parkland, Jupiter or Winter Park. If not and say more "Sunbelt suburban" in your lifestyle/viewpoints I'd throw in similars to St John's County such as Lake Mary, Viera or Palm Harbor.

Great, thanks! I definitely prefer the South Florida lifestyle and cities nearby...... but St John's may just be a better place to raise a family due to what it offers for families including great schools. I will check out the other places you have mentioned.

If interested in Central FL, go with Oviedo, Winter Springs or Lake Mary. But you will be 45 mins to an hour and 15 mins away from beaches.

I have been hearing about Jupiter! But is it good for families with small children? What does it offer?

If you really want accessibility to larger South Florida cities like Miami or Ft Lauderdale check out places like Weston, Cooper City and Parkland which are very established family-friendly areas with excellent public schools.
