Thats how I was, when I was a kid, I lived near Boston and loved to play in the snow. I would get into my snowsuit and go and play with my dog in the woods, it was great fun. Later my family moved to Texas. I HATED the cold weather in the winter and it was FAR too hot in the summer.

I knew I didn't like that weather before I moved to Orlando, I think thats why its a good fit for me, I knew I wanted something with less of a weather change. When I go back to Texas in the cold weather to visit, I am cold all the time, they have to build a fire in the fireplace for me. I can't wait to get back here, shed the extra layer of clothes and slip on my sandals. I love the fresh air that blows through from leaving the windows and sliders open.

I just moved from MN, and I remember it having 2 seasons:

Fall was a quick 20 minutes and spring was wet.

I like the 'gentle' winters here in N Florida, and will take 3 months of extreme heat versus 7 months of gray, depressing cold.

3 months of extreme heat? Try 9 months!

I would say about 2 months of extreme heat upper 90`s but even the upper 80`s and low 90`s feel hot because the dew point is so high in the summer.

The night time in the summer actually feels worse then the day because the humidity is near 100% and hovers around 80.

Oh and toss in some mosquito's with that sticky nightime air and then it`s crazy! lol

And if you think the rain cools it off think again. If it rains in the day and the sun comes back out it`s like a sauna ask anyone who lives in orlando if it`s worse after it rains.

The St Pete area feels cooler then the Orlando area because of the evening breeze off the gulf.

I am disgusted that the weather is hot again. It was so nice being cool and I had so much energy. Now I feel like doing nothing, sitting in front of the fan getting fat.

I remember my last summer in Texas. It was 100 or higher every day for a month at a time, then one day it would dip below and then right back up again. At night, it wouldn't go any lower then 90 and no rain for months on end. It just hammered me into the ground.

I would go out at 8 in the evening to mow the lawn with the headlights on my riding lawn mower or get up at 5am to avoid the worst of the heat. I would get to hot that I would go into my fenced in backyard and stand under the hose until the water didn't feel cold anymore. My body temperature took so long to return to normal.

After all that, it just doesn't get as misreable to me. I can understand if you didn't come from a climate like that, that the heat here would be too much for you.

I remember at night, the frogs and snakes would come out and lay all over the driveway. Then of course in the winter, it would get so cold, even if it wanted to snow, it couldn't.

I love it here for these very reasons.

Kind like people who move from Florida to the snowbelt!!!
Eh, I'm from Michigan originally, lived in FL for 9 years, and now looking to go back up north (northern NJ). I enjoy the seasons.
