I'm sure the interiors of those trucks have the a/c set to a more comfortable temp, though.

There are even people who leave those areas claiming the taxation and governance were too restrictive, only to come here and vote for and support the very types who would bring those styles of taxation and governance to this area.

Apparently the old saying, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" means nothing here, because everyone wants to live in a warm climate but not sweat or be confronted with (natural) heat. Overall, they want to "be" here (not "live" here), and they take great pains to let everyone know their allegiance lies elsewhere. The unnatural temperatures of the a/c is just another manifestation of this demand for an artificial environment for people who don't want to settle in and "be Roman".

Very true post!

How about a lifted Silverado 1500 with FL Cracker sticker and Gator plate?

Both are pretty common here in Ocala. Also rust bucket variations and trucks with smokestacks & confederate flags blowing in the wind. Go into the few truly rural areas and it takes an entire family to make a full set of teeth. The historic district and surrounding suburbs are laden with self-segregated pockets of raging hood-rats driving 20(+)-year-old Buicks with expensive chrome spinning or floating rims.
