I wonder just how many Northeasters have started thinking about or have decided to move to Florida after enduring such a record breaking cold winter.
Are there any studies on the numbers of people moving to Florida in cold winters vs mild winters.

I hope so because I want to buy their house and their snow blower on the way out

I've seen some people I know, who wanted to move to FL anyway, get more serious about it in the past month or so. Who knows if they will go ahead with it once the reality of finding jobs sets in.

I think the whole country has had an unusual winter this year, but yes the NE is getting slammed pretty good. As much as i may gripe about it, i miss the NE a lot. I was a resident for 17 years in NJ and my wife in CT her whole life, we moved down to TX and are planning on moving back up north or maybe FL. Going to take a trip out to FL and see what its like.

I'm not sure if there are any studies, but the Florida forums are always full of people complaining about the cold this time of year. It seems a lot of people want to move for no other reason except to avoid winter. I'm sure most just come on here to complain while it's cold, and then spring starts and everything is right in their world again.
