St. Augustine could build a sea wall and divert all the water to Daytona and drown it.

Yeah, science, another liberal invention. What's next; we're related to chimpanzees? The Earth is billions of years old? Democrats crack me up.

We'll discover the scientists were lying and the Earth is actually flat.

I find most such articles focus on the "danger" without actually saying how much the rise will be. Fear mongering to get what they want done?

Is climate change real, sure as we can see it occurring. However how long it will take for a significant sea level rise to occur is usually not mentioned. It will take a long time for sure, and, who knows the next change could be a drop in sea levels and ... wow St Augustine becomes land locked and Bermuda becomes a part of FL.

Like all things, the answer is somewhere in the middle. Some deny, some overreact. The sensible weigh the evidence and formulate a viable plan. It seems moderates have completely lost their way.

The more immediate danger to Florida from climate change is not that the State will be plunged under water, but that even a small rise in sea level will cause contamination of the shallow fresh water aquifers, making water more expensive. Plus, storm surges during storms will get progressively worse and cause more damage. All adds up to higher costs and lower property prices.

The state's plan is to ignore it, and fire any state employee who utters the term global warming.

In the last few years the rise has been about 1.3mm (Average) per year. That would be about 1" in 9-10 years.

A reasonable projection is about 6" by 2100.

I won't be around to see it unless something really drastic happens.

Yes spend billions for an approximate 1" rise in the next 10 years.
