Hi everyone!
I am looking to move from New York to the Palm Coast area. I wanted to know how the schools are my kids are very young but it doesn't hurt to ask. Are their a lot of stores nearby? My children are mixed and I wanted to know if that would cause any problems down their? I have a good paying job and so does my husband we are both planning to transfer down. I've seen a few pics. and it seems okay but any input would really be helpful. Also, if you can suggest any other nice but affordable places that would help. PLEASE.....feel free to send me any pics. of either Palm coast or any other area.
thank you so much for your help.

HI! I have been living in Palm Coast for about 6 months now and I really do love it. If you do a search on this forum for Palm Coast there will be alot of info for you. Some people love it here and some people hate it.

Palm Coast has its negatives but the housing is coming back down to where you can get a really nice place cheap. There is a beautiful park called Princess Place where you can hike, camp, ride horses all along the intercoastal. There are great beaches nearby (Crescent is awesome) there are tons of golf courses. Now there are finally restaurants and daytona, st. augustine offer lots of shopping. schools used to be okay not sure how they are now, but there is a brand new high school good luck

I love Princess Place park, both for its beauty and historical charm. That house is gorgeous! I take my grandson there at least once a year and we plan to kayak there this summer.

In Palm Coast, they also have an indoor play center called "Let's Play" on Old Kings Rd., just down the road from McDonald's. I guess it's for kids 10 or 11 and under. We were there last weekend and my grandson really enjoys it.

As for schools - being a 24-year-veteran elementary school teacher, I have a critical eye when it comes to schools. My grandson went to Belle Terre Elem. for Kindergarten and even though it is a brand new building, I was not impressed with the teachers nor the academic program. This year he goes to Old Kings Elem. and I am very impressed with this school. It has more of a "homey, nurturing" feel to it - definitely a much more child-friendly environment.

I personally like Palm Coast and would love to live there to be closer to my grandson, but have too much invested here in Charleston - home, friends, school, church,....
So, I'll continue coming down 4 or 5 times a year to visit (and to shop at Bealls and the outlets in St. Augustine)!
