So I'm looking at either living in the Tampa area and going to St. Petersburg College or living in the Orlando area and going to either Seminole State or Valencia. I have only ever been to the Orlando area but that was a very long time ago so I hardly remember! I have done a ton of research but I've gotten some very mixed reviews. Basically it's between being close to the beach (since I would be going to St. Petersburg college so I would imagine I would be there quite a bit) or being near amusement parks, which I absolutely love (Orlando). I need to make a decision fast, and cannot actually go there before I pick a college because I live a long ways away. Any opinions or advice would appreciated very much!

Also if anybody has any experience with any of these colleges I would love to hear about it.

St Pete is infinitely more interesting than Orlando in terms of varying things to do with a lot of cultural amenities, a vibrant downtown and of course the beach. I truly doubt amusement parks will be part of your daily routine and for the random weekend it's a two hour drive to the parks from St Pete. By the way, have you checked out USF-St Pete?

I second this.
Plus, if theme parks are a must for you, one could argue that a college student would have a much better time at Busch Gardens than at any of Orlando's parks.
I went to Valencia in Orlando and then USF in Tampa and I live in Orlando, so I got pretty accustomed to both metros. Orlando is nice and has some advantages, but as far as college went, I preferred the Tampa/St-Pete area.

I would suggest Tampa/St. Pete as well. Amusement parks are great to go to once in a while but realistically no one spends all their weekends there. Plus, you cant beat the St. Pete/Treasure Island beaches!!!

Thanks for the advice everyone I believe I will be going with the Tampa area! I hadn't heard of USF St. Pete. Maybe I will transfer there after my associates! A 2 year college would be the most affordable option right now which is what I am going for.

It is a pretty good school in downtown right on the water... It is a lot better than the main campus imho. St Pete is the right choice here. The amusement parks are fun every now and then, but you have to remember they're under 1.5hrs from Tampa so you can still make a day trip out of it.

Anybody who thinks that all Orlando has are amusement parks I'd have to wonder if they've ever actually been to Orlando. That said, I'd chose Tampa... But I mean Tampa. USF's main campus is significantly better than SPC, and USF-SP doesn't offer as many classes as USF. Plus, you can drive to St. Pete whenever you want, and you'll still be closer to Orlando if you chose to go that way.

Quite honestly, you likely not see the amusement parks very often if you choose Orlando, especially on a student budget. It's pretty much like saying you want to attend UNLV for the casinos. That being said both are great areas with alot to offer for young people. As much as beaches and the social aspect are a huge part of a young persons life you really should think about what you want to do and choose your school based on what they offer as far as majors and curriculum. Socially or entertainment wise, you'll be fine in either area.

The OP wouldn't be going to USF, though. Either city would would work for the OP, but beaches or amusement parks shouldn't be the deciding factor.

I have researched the schools significantly. They are all about the same cost and have the same program I'm interested in. I seriously love Disney world so much I could live there. With the type of housing I'm seeking both areas are about the same. I have my own car so I wouldn't need to decide for public transportation. Basically the only thing I had to decide on was entertainment/scenery because I know I will be in either area for a while and would like to enjoy my time there! I wouldn't be choosing either school because of beaches or amusement parks because all the schools have what I need and what matters to me, just wanted to clarify.
