it wouldnt be so bad if the skeeters would at least die off but its not cold enough.

My daughter and niece kept wanting to sit down (they're 4&5). She was a witch so she was in a dress and stockings. Some of these kids were in big fluffy winter type costumes... I mean why? ?? Even with the light costume her cheeks were fire red and people were handing out water with candy. We checked the head index halfway through and it was 96 with 70% humidity at 6:45. We made it 1 block before the kids just kept saying "I wanna go home" we cut it short and came home and had pizza. I'm so thankful this is the last year of that misery.

Thats kinda sad that its so hot and humid the kids would rather go home than go out trick or treating.

Same here . Two weeks in march and two weeks in November seem to work pretty good.

As usual, the chronic complaining Florida bashers here are exaggerating about Halloween...

Down here in Sarasota everyone was having a good time and no one's cheeks were "fire-red" or having to sit down, etc. for chrissakes people give it up and get the hell out already.....

It happened here in Central FL too. Kids were sweating, faces were red. My oldest took off her costume, too damn hot. I got bit up by misquitoes too. My neighbor had to wear a sweatshirt to cover up her arms bc the skeeters were biting her.

No exaggerations here. I was there walking with a large group. All the kids were getting worn out and tired due to the humidity, hardly any breeze or anything. I hated getting bit by skeeters the most, I could handle the heat.

Sounds like some kids need to get away from the video games and computers and get more physical. What do they do in the daytime in August? For mosquitoes there are a dozen products especially designed for that. They call it "insect repellant".
