It really was not worth the attention it has received in this thread.
Definitely agree with that one!

And Spring Hillian hit it on the head. Any negative posts that end up here are always over the top.

Yep and my wife and I may be living there in a year or so and NOT in a major city.

Hey, sounds like Baton Rouge. Hoping to move to South Florida (NOT MIAMI) and a lot of this I already know how to deal with

Please leave then! It is so annoying to have people wait for parking spaces at Publix. Move on and stop blocking traffic.

Complaining about bugs? Really? Life isn't sterile.

Florida is great for those who enjoy tropical weather. The annoying thing is the people who come to escape the snow and complain about everything else in Florida.

Fla has enough ;and and cities or towns to please all likes- I love the city life and happy- but please do not move to a city or very close to one and expect it not to spread. They come and then vote NO to every improvement and change. I am not sure 30 miles is far away enough from a city for it not to touch your life style ?

Because unions may get better pay for their workers, which raises costs for everyone else, but trying to fire a bad union employee is really, really hard. An example is with UPS (not a FL thing, a Union thing). I ship all over the US. In one area just about every package was damaged. In speaking with 1 company rep, and verified by others, the problem was really bad workers and the Union protected them, they could not be fired in this one facility where packages arrived for distribution. I had to change carriers to get product to customers. The auto Unions are even worse. Unions in the past protected a lot of member rights, and yes I belonged to one, but today the laws do that, so it is now only about money and political power.
