There arent any annual inspections in FL. It will cost just about $400 per vehicle for re-title in FL, registration and new plates. That is a one time fee, Annually the registration is about $50.

Congratulations on your move! We came down in May from CT and we are very, very happy here. We brought down our cars and the only thing they actually "inspected" were the VIN numbers. No emissions or actually inspecting done. And one of our cars is pretty old - a '96 BMW Z3 - but they only looked at the VIN. Hope this helps! Good luck to you

Just another positive for Florida. They stopped doing the pointless inspections 15 years ago. You'll notice a sense of liberation in Florida compared to some of these other States.

Yea we have those smog checks every two years and the dreaded state inspections....etc. I saw about the VIN number checks, it seems you have to bring it to a place to have that verified?

VIN is checked to verify that an out of state vehicle is not stolen or has an altered VIN.
VIN is verified when you apply for title.

Yes, you have to drive the car to DMV. An inspector walks outside to the parking lot with a clipboard and a flashlight and writes down the VIN number. Takes about 5 minutes

Go when its not raining. I have seen signs saying that they will not go outside in the rain when I renewed tags in Clay County and paid a ticket in Seminole County
