This one acts like a reincarnation of a previous member. Posts very similar.

2)" it is not walkable at all"

Miami Beach is very walkable. According to walkscore, Miami is the 5th most walkable city in the USA: https://www.walkscore.com/cities-and-neighborhoods/

3)"and it is not racially integrated even 1/10 of the way the NE is. "

The NE is racially integrated now?

According to this study on the 9 most segregated cities: The 9 Most Segregated Cities In America

Boston is number 7, Miami did not make the list. NYC is also more segregated than Miami with racial and ethnic enclaves.

Really some of the things you say are so startlingly wrong, you best just not say anything.
Is there a reason you keep trying to say Miami Beach is all of Miami?

Maybe you need to learn how to read and point to where I said: "Miami Beach is all of Miami?"

I said Miami Beach is very walkable (should be more precise and say South Beach), and Miami is ranked the 5th most walkable city in the USA by walkscore. Notice the distinction. The walkscore ranking is for Miami itself, and doesn't include Miami Beach.

Okay guys. I sort of get it now. I mean I already assumed the whole thing about the weather. I was curious though why there would be more northeastern folks, versus people from any other northern states. The northeast is not the only place that is cold. In fact, scarily, it ain't that cold...you might think it is until you head to Chicago, or North Dakota. Then you're in for it.

Is it also because south Florida is expensive? And maybe New Yorkers can easily afford properties down there if they're coming with saving

Texas and Arizona pull a lot of the Midwesterners.

South Fl transplants are from New Yawk City, Longuylin, Joysie because of direct drive on I-95 and direct flights from area airports.

I look at it this way the I-95 corridor pulls in the people from the Northeast and they settle along the Atlantic Ocean side of Florida. Think warm and most flock to South Florida, especially New Jersey and New York people do.
The I-75 corridor pulls in people mainly from the Midwest and they settle primarily in Southwest Florida think warm again.

Central Florida is basically for the tourist driving down any interstate corridor as most head to Orlando and some will decide they like the region and decide to move and reside there.

Alright everybody. Damn good responses I like. I've heard that stigma about Midwestern folks settling on the gulf coast & northeasterners settling on the Atlantic coast. I'm a northeast native of NJ who is transplanted to Chicago. I love the frigid cold so it works. But I also think Florida is just a cool state cause there's so much there. And I'm a city data need who needs to learn everything about everywhere so.

As others have pointed out, the proximity to I-95 or I-75 can be an indication of which coast they settle on.

There are also many people from Quebec in South Florida, but I don't know whether they are permanent transplants or simply snowbirds. Ontario is an interesting case because the traditional route to Florida is via either I-75 (crossing at Windsor/Detroit) or I-95 (via I-79 and I-77), but I think you'll find more Ontario snowbirds on the Gulf Coast. Most of the Jewish transplants or snowbirds (irregardless of origin) end up in Palm Beach-Broward-Dade Metro I think.
