We have a new home in Inverness, Fl. We would like to try out cable connections, check all of our outlets but are not going to be there full time for a few years. How do we check out this new in-house cable system without signing up for full time service. Any experience in this area?? I think the only priovider is Brighthouse (sp).

I'm guessing you want to do this to test the internet connection?

Can't you have it installed and then have it turned off in a month? Where is Inverness if you don't mind me asking? High speed "cable" internet is a must have for our business. Nothing else will work as consistently ( generally speaking ) and it's been a lot of aggravation going to places in NC, Tenn ( especially Tenn ) that simply don't have it which knocks us out of being interested.

If you don't mind would you please post again when you discover the quality of this cable company? ( That is if my assumption is right about it being about the net connection)

Thank you

Hi there, I live in Inverness and the other cable company is Adelphia Cable. I'm sure if you call them and tell them the situation, they can send out a tech to test out your cable connections. Good Luck and welcome to the neighborhood! (Brighthouse is the other cable provider).

Thanks for the reply. I wanted to avoid the "installation fee" for connection until we are there permanently. I agree with the need for high speed connections. We had dial up for a number of years and can not go back.

Thanks for the info. Do you have any contact info for Adelphia cable? I'm writing from Illinois right now and it is 9 degrees. Enjoy Florida!
