I think red tide events are naturally occurring (dinoflagellates/marine plankton are photosynthetic, usually multiple due to high temps. It's been happening for a long time.

The Gulf Panhandle beaches are normally clear and beautiful. The east coast beaches, while pretty are a tad dingy and water visibility is not that great. Once you get into South Florida, you again get into water that is sparkling clear.
I don't have to see a U-Tube video to determine if the water is "PRETTY BAD" or clear, I know for a fact!
