Would you ever consider living in Seattle because of its climate? Does Florida's hotness and humidity ever get too much for you that you would consider living in a climate like Seattle's?

I've lived in Seattle and Florida and I never got used to Seattle's weather besides the short summer. However, it is a great city, so it would be near the top of my list of cities I'd live in.

Weather is miserable from October-April. We were up there visiting our kids who live there, had to deal with ice-fog. It gets up into the 90's in the summer and many homes don't have AC. Utilities, cost of living is out-of-sight. Son is having hell with his allergies.

Seattle's climate is the opposite of FL's. Down here people complain about the heat, up there it rains a lot (constant dreariness from Oct-to-May). Lived briefly north of Seattle in the 90s. I couldn't stand the weather back then. Lately been visiting every couple years and have gotten used to the climate more. Their mountains are beautiful, especially Mt Baker.

I would love a climate like Seattle's...I would actually prefer that to what you get in California.

I like Seattle as a city but not climate. I didn't like Ohio for the winters and gloomy skies.. Seattle would be worse - least for gloomy and cold. Though they don't get much snow it seems, I want sunny days.

I visited first last September, for work (outside). I was told it was best to get the job done by the 15th, because it would start raining on the 16th. They called it perfectly. The morning of the 16th was raining, foggy as I headed to the airport.
Went back out this past May. Roller coaster weather. One day in the 80's, next morning in the 40's, next morning cold rain, hot in the afternoon, cold again next morning. Makes the job way more difficult. The only saving factor is the much longer day. Early May had daylight by 5:15 am, last light about 8:45 pm. But it still took me 5 days longer to get the job done, due to the weather.
I'm tentatively scheduled to go out again in October. I'm thinking I might have to schedule a full three weeks for the weather delays.
Aside from the weather, what I've seen of the area (Bellevue, Factoria area) seems quite nice, but the traffic/congestion, and certainly high rent area is a turn off.
Nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there.
