Dumpster Diving?? Not sure how people do it. All the dumpsters over by us don't seem to hold water. As fast as I fill them they leak water all over. Does not seem safe to me.

I used to wonder about all those trucks that drives around picking up discarded metals such as washing machines or dishwashers for recycling on trash day. Then I had to get rid of an old fridge and someone wanted $25 fee to do it. I loaded up my truck with it and some other junk metal I've been meaning to get rid of like the busted lawnmower and bed frames. Drove to the recycler place only couple miles away and they gave me $20 to take all that off my hand (weighed my truck before and after). Free lunch! Who knew.

So there's a local grocery chain (I don't know how big their footprint is outside my state) that I have found is tossing all sorts of perfectly fine food.

Bags of oranges, grapes, bananas, various fruits and vegetables, other perishable goods.

It's astonishing to me - I've checked three of their sites and all are tossing stuff.

I've been trying to eat "cleaner" (fruits and veggies) and do so on a budget, but I didn't think it would be this sort of budget.

Only around Colorado College the week of classes being over...OHmy gosh...brand new Eddie Bauer down coat, brooms and
tools and lamps, wood, cinderblocks galore!

Thick memory twin bed mattresses...these kids get presents from Grandma they just toss
cuz they are spending their summers in Europe...they never think of the homeless or donating to Goodwill.

Better yet, get with a reality TV show producer and sell this as a show.
Dont forget my 10% on the TV revenues you generate from your occupation.
Really, dont forget my 10%

I'm down in Key West and noticed a few trash can diving younger adults (20s). Pretty sad that their lives have come to this.

I found a place that is tossing TONS of produce - enough to feed a small starving nation, every week, if not every night. This is just from one night - you should see what I left behind:
