Hello,
i live in NJ and I am considering planning to move to florida in a few months.
1) in florida there is no state income tax filing correct? just federal?
2) i have an LLC in NJ, which does business online mostly or by remote consulting, nothing physical. if i leave my LLC in NJ, when i move to florida, do i file tax return to FL now, because florida taxes corporations? or still no filing to florida because my LLC is separate from me? in this case i will continue filing tax return to NJ, because my LLC is still there, but this time it will be non resident to NJ correct ?
3)anyways if i did not have LLC, or close down my LLC, but if i still do this online and consulting business without an LLC, in my own personal name, when i live there? then what? i file like florida business in that case?

There is no personal income tax

Depending on area you may or may not have a tax on your inventory but there is no income tax in florida

You should consider opening a Florida LLC and killing the NJ company

I am in FL now having moved from NJ. I killed the NJ corp we had and set up a new LLC in FL. Application fee and annual registration fee for LLC in FL will cost a little more in fees (NJ was $50, FL is about $130).

As to income tax you'll only have to pay Fed taxes only. Your LLC income flows to your personal income, so there is no state income tax in FL. If you keep the NJ LLC, you'll have to continue to file and pay NJ income tax.

Macrodome2 has the basic info for you. Filing an LLC in Florida costs $135. If you file as a single person LLC income passes though to you, and you report it as income on schedule C. Residents of Florida do not file state income tax (to Florida). If you earn income in another state, you may have to file a state income tax in that state on what you earned there.

If you have a Florida LLC you will have to file a report yearly, and there is an associated filing fee. You may need a physical address for an LLC. I don't think PO boxes are allowed. You can get all the accurate info you need at www.sunbiz.org - Florida Limited Liability Company Forms.
