Considering moving to Laureate Park in Lake Nona. Can someone give me the racial demographics of the area and schools?...Would you consider this place friendly towards African Americans?

Go to City Data's Florida map view and look at the demographic filter. This will show you a detailed racial breakdown of communities if you zoom in on the map enough.

Laureate Park is a nice, upscale, modern community. We're not talking about a backwards deep south town, African Americans will be fine here and every other community in Orlando. The entire metro area has a diverse population.

According to census information there's 0.0% Blacks living in Lake Nona and would surmise the schools are similar. You might look at places like Oviedo or Waterford Lakes which are on the same side of town and have a sizable Black population comparatively speaking and good schools generally with diverse student populations.

In more affluent neighborhoods, you should have no issues with being the only black family. Most if not everyone will overlook and ignore skin colors.
