Marion County, FL. And Ocala but also nearby towns all around Ocala. There are many thoroughbred horse farms there. It's dubbed "The Horse Capital of the World."

Cost of living is reasonable for Florida and sometimes workers can live on the farms as part of their pay package. It's a beautiful area with large trees and rolling hills. (google: ocala florida horse farm images)

They(Ocala area) have stallion farms and also many farms that train and others that have broodmares (the females that are bred/birthed yearly) and also farms that have foals (weanlings, yearlings). Some farms are rehab or time off farms for thoroughbreds that are still in training. Some farms prep the horses for auctions which occur at obssales.com among others.

Other types of equine farms around Ocala too.

There are several horse associations in FL that might point you in the right direction for work.

Breeding season starts in February and foals are born between Jan and end of May mostly. So it's likely to be a busy time soon for workers.
