My understanding is that All Aboard Florida ticket prices from Miami to Orlando will be $143 one way, so almost six times $25.

The train speed is 79-125 mph. That is not fast at all. With stops and wait times, certainly no faster than a car.

Moreover, once you reach destination, what do you do? Get in a car? Where can you walk to?

Please.

I hope I am wrong, but I do not see how All Aboard Florida will be commercially successful.

Yes, it is a great idea, but from the very beginning I always wondered in practical terms what are they really up to.
The stations in South Florida are all centrally located, you can walk, uber easily to many points of interest. The main issue will be the price. When I go to Miami, I just leave my car in the garage and just uber pool everywhere, so I'd love to not have to drive and pay expensive overnight parking. However, if the cost is what you said there is no way in hell I will use it lol.

Not enough. We need high speed rail. Even China has high speed. Tickets should be heavily subsidized.

These prices aren't bad for a business traveler when you consider 1. Not having to rent a vehicle or use your own vehicle, 2. The work you could be getting done instead of just driving time, 3. Not having to pay for parking which in DT Miami can run up to $25 for just a few hours, and 4. Not having to deal with the frustration that is I95 and Turnpike in SFL. The last reason alone is enough to entice me. I can't recall how many times I've been late to meetings in Miami or Ft. Laudy because of an accident on the highway.

So everyone can pay for the ones who ride it??????? Why?

What real good does it do if not enough people chose to ride it?

These always run a deficit, have fewer users, and costs more. They cite the budge, but it costs millions per mile to upgrade the lines to transit quality. I have seen the bureaucrats say they are a success, citing specious user numbers, but always run a deficit.

Who actually succeed with these projects? The construction companies, the suppliers, and the politicians who get kickbacks in the form of 'campaign contributions' from the same.
