Hello my name is Tracey i am looking to relocate to Florida i am a Pitbull mom of 2 boys. Need a affordable apt to rent. I used to live in Central Orlando and my complex had no Breed Restrictions it just took a few bad apples to make all the rest suffer. Please if any suggestions toss them over please. Have found a few but a 3 Bedroom was 1200. a month to rich for my blood lol

Something that may help is to have your veterinarian write a letter stating your dog is a mixed breed (ex: boxer or lab) versus pure pitbull, especially if he/she is like the vast majority that has a sweet disposition. That'll eliminate the flat-out "no" from landlords when you can say mixed breed, which most pits are anyway. Also pet stores like Petco offer a Canine Good Citizen class which is very affordable and provides certification of good behavior which can go a long way toward finding an accepting rental. Central Florida is becoming insanely expensive in terms of rentals (especially versus the average salary) so you might consider other areas of the state where salaries are similar and rentals a good bit less than Orlando. You might consider places like Gainesville, Ocala, Palm Coast, St Augustine, Fort Myers/Cape Coral or Tallahassee which are all pretty nice places to live also.

Please keep us posted if you find a 3 bedroom for less than 1200/month anywhere.
(In South Florida 1200/month might get you a tiny one bedroom.)
Best of luck!
