This is the most updated (2016) from FAU with new SAT and current ACT score medians:

Below are the mid-range GPA’s and test scores for the freshman class entering each term in 2016 at FAU.

FALL 2016
GPA: 3.74-4.37
SAT (all 3 sections): 1510-1740
rSAT (both 2 sections): 1100 - 1250
ACT: 22-27

While a 960 or two might exist at FAU, my hunch would be they're either A) a scholarship athlete or B) a higher average GPA/solid extracurricular that doesn't test well.

College Guides sum up the FAU student body as typically solid B+ students, so hardly a school of dummies or underachievers.
