Just an observation from my area but it seems the past few years the Love Bug swarms have vanished. Is this the case across Florida or perhaps due to a change from more and more development and they're still prevalent in less congested areas?

1969??? Through what.....Purple Haze? They had been as thick and a thorough nuisance as late as the mid 2000s and as mentioned not seen in my area for the past few years.

I think the hatches were reduced by the very low rainfall. Little rain = few lovebugs. If we get plenty of rainfall during July and early August we could have an epic late summer hatch.
