I heard that this is a nice area... any thoughts? We are in our mid 40's with two kids coming from NY, so school's, low crime, and job growth are our top three priorities. Thank you for your advice.

Hi LongIslander - I relocated from Jersey 4 years ago. Winter Park is nice but like Curt said - pricey - as are Windermere, Celebration & Dr. Phillips.

I wound up in Clermont - because of the good schools, jobs good because of proximity to Disney & peace & quiet rolling hills. Lots of my new neighbors are from NJ / NY...
[moderator CUT] try visiting www.greatschools.net - to check out area schools.

Good luck

Cindy

Default Winter Park

Winter Park is a great town. We use to live not to far from there (College Park) a few years back. They have an adorable section with a "Main Street USA" type of feel, lots of independent business as well as chain stores, and good proximity to hospitals, malls etc.

Winter Park is a nice area. Do you have to live there though? There are surrounding areas close by which are nice and have good schools too, just less in property taxes. [moderator CUT]

Can you name a few? I'm not tied into Winter Park, but would prefer an established place, with good schools, family oriented (we are in our 40's and our kids are young), low crime, and somewhat commutable to Orlando for jobs. Thanks for your views.
