We are closing on a home in the Weeki Wachee/Brooksville area next month and are looking for child care centers or home day cares in that area for our 17 month old. Looking on line just brings up ratings on various day cares (if there are any ratings... usually there isn't). I can't find direct websites for daycares there. I even checked craigslist and didn't find much of anything. Does anyone have any recommendations for day care? Thanks a bunch for any info!!!

Default Child care

I looked in the local phone book and came up with Childhood Developement Services.......free child care resource and referral, there on 20162 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville......754-5068 or website: www.childhooddevelopement.org (broken link) listed in the phone book are approx. 25-30 different day care centers, make sure you inspect and visit each one, some are great, others not so. Also get on state sex offenders website and check for sex offenders in any area, including home.
With no young children at home myself, I've heard from friends that day care can get pricey. Good luck I hope this information helps.

Are you looking for full time or part time?
I will check with some people I know with kids and see where they go.

Thanks for the information. We are looking for either full or part time.... My husband works 3 days during the week and could have our son with him the other two (though he likes to have the time to take care of things around the house... hard to do with constant toddler interruptions). We do check the sex offender registry and do a background check prior to deciding on a childcare provider/center. Thanks! I have found a few up there and we are going to start making our visits.

My daughter goes to the VPK program at Bright Beginnings. They also have a daycare at the facility that I hear is great. I am very happy with the VPK program. I deal with alot of the same staff as the daycare. You can also look into First Friends. They both have waiting lists because they are worth it.
When I first moved here from LI, I personally checked into 7 to 8 places and these are the only two that I felt comfortable with.
