You like it remote...I had to Google Levy County just to see where it was at. I agree with you I'd prefer Levy to Glades.

I'm in Palm Beach County this week, and the population density is awful. When I lived here 35 years ago in Boca, it was great, but now, its morphing into Fort Lauderdale-North. My old pals are still here, but they lived through the growth all of these years, so they don't notice the destruction as much as I do.

I hope Lake Placid stays the same for a few more decades. I prefer Sebring because there's more retail & restaurants, & closer to healthcare. Some day 27 will look like 41, or 19, or US 1.

I did some work around Bronson, Chiefland, Trenton and Otter Creek a few years back. Nice hidden gem. It's not for me, but I can see the appeal.

Yeah, and dense, not in a good way. It still has that hideous suburban sprawly feel that sunbelt cities are infamous for, yet it's congested beyond belief.

I've driven through Chiefland & thought it was nice, but it was years ago. I've never seen the others that I know of.

Anytime the interstate has 5 lanes going in each direction, that is not a place I'd consider living. I prefer 2 lanes going each way, but I'll do 3. When construction of the 4th lane begins, I'm planning my escape.

Have you been to Orlando lately? Now THAT'S a mess and a half. Looks like it's shooting to be Miami #2...

Take a moment to take in this spaghetti junction in all of its glory, along with how wide I-4 has become:
