That said, while I agree that yes, their regular prices may be slightly higher than average, it's not THAT much more, and their sales/BOGOs can lead to some pretty substantial savings. Stuff like Cascade dishwasher pods, cereal, olive oil, bags of lettuce, etc., can definitely add up.
Yup. Every time I shop there there are usually several things on my list that are BOGO or on sale. When all is said and done the prices average out very well, comparable to anywhere, really. I shop at ALDI once in awhile and their prices have crept up now that they are remodeling and accept credit cards and offer so may more organics. Some of the same brands of wine I buy at Publix cost more at ALDI.

Bahawah !!!!!! You Must also work for Public !!!!!!!!

No One comes close to ALDI in prices, not even The Neighborhood Market, nevermind ~Where Shopping Never has Been a Pleasure~ aka ~Where Shopping IS AN EXPENSIVE Pleasure~

We could say the same for you and Aldi since you've become particularly defensive when someone has mentioned them.

Some people want their actual Nabisco Oreos, Jimmy Dean Sausage, Dunkin Donuts creamer, Emerald's Nuts, Honey Bunches of Oats cereal, etc., and don't want to remember to bring a quarter to use a cart, pay for bags and then stand in a long line to check out.

Why does this have to be an "only one winner allowed" discussion? Meanwhile, the execs at Aldi and Publix are both living pretty happy lives financially speaking.

Internally, Aldi is the creepy grocery store equivalent of Scientology.

I can send you a DM about it when I get some time tonight or tomorrow if you like. It may be unfair for me to categorize the entire company in such a fashion, but I do have more than just superficial consumer experience with the company.

I just assumed they were a quirky German discount grocer from the same family that created Trader Joe's. They used to only take debit cards and cash and you had to use a quarter to get your shopping cart

Aldi is quirky, but they have some good staples. Nonfat Greek yogurt. Oatmeal. Shiraz. Basmati rice. Healthy frozen meals.

I'm disappointed that they don't have better prices on most everything else. I have to go to Costco for milk,
Walmart for frozen veggies....

A super Walmart is just down the street from Aldi. You'd think Aldi would do better.

Publix does this well.

Yes, the everyday prices at Aldi are cheaper, but they'll only have 1 of their 4 registers open. Walmart and Super Target have like 25 lanes, and will only have 4 or 5 of them open.
Customer service might be: cutting a spaghetti squash in half so I don't have to chase the squash around my kitchen counters with a not so great knife, cutting a roast in half that is too large for my needs, slicing a pineapple for me...… Those employees in the meat and produce departments will do these things and many more....free of charge.

There are certainly some positive credits to be granted to the company. I just don't care for some of the behind-the-scenes activities and decision-making processes I've been privy to. Please consider this an overtly PC criticism for legal reasons.
