So can we step on these people and roll our shopping carts over them?
Take up your childish protests against Publix HQ or something -- Not the stores where kids their age are ACTUALLY WORKING, trying to raise money for their college tuition, and where parents are buying groceries and supplies for their families.

And aren't there laws against this?

You are being too reasonable and those sponsoring boycotts are not.

What's wrong with Publix threads? If you don't like them, you are welcome to ignore them.

I see this as an "I'm moving to Canada if X wins the presidency" thing...

Nowadays, with people on both sides being easily offended, it is critical that businesses be extremely careful about their level of political involvement. In the age of 24/7 news and social media, these things will all come to light.

Some people have said that racism isn't getting worse. It's just being recorded (and shared more easily). Corporations did this stuff prior to 2005, but you probably didn't know about it unless you were deep in political news.

Who cares? This is so idiotic it doesn't deserve a thread. Publix will not donate to candidates in the future and these stupid protests will go away. The country has become so polarized and beholden to every whim. Anyone can post on Facebook and start a boycott or complain about this or that. Social media can changed America and not necessarily for the better. I will shop at Publix no matter what.

I think it’s interesting that we have gone from one boycott (liberals) to another on the other side (conservatives) of the issue. Companies cannot make everyone happy! How do they choose which side to anger?

Hopefully this is a learning experience for them to stay out of politics. It's a no win situation. If they lower their prices people will shop there. Others don't have other choices to shop and will keep shopping there on both sides.

Easy. Don't mix business and politics
