What wife and I have known, since we moved here, is that there are lots and lots of people who 100% would stay in Florida, no matter what the summer weather would bring. And, there are those that would never move from the snow states they live no matter how bad the winter would get. Like my classmates I mentioned earlier.

If you are going to move every time a state has a weather event, there will be nowhere to live.

There are tornadoes, hail storms, floods, blizzards, earthquakes, droughts, forest fires, mudslides, heat waves, etc. in other states.

There are many days we watch the evening news and south Florida is the only place in the country not having weather problems. This summer, the temperatures were worse in many parts of the country than they were here. I'll take the occasional hurricane or tropical storm over what the rest of the country deals with all winter and summer any day.

After a couple months of hurricane season, we have 6 months of warm weather, while the rest of the country steels themselves for the winter mess they'll have to deal with.

Many reasons. Mostly the overdevelopment in our area and the effects of climate change. Plus we were just tired of being too dang hot in summer, lol.

We would love to get out of the south and live in a more progressive area, but can't afford it. Love CO!

The two go together as such a view causes costs to rise with minimal benefit.

SO, there are those, even in this Thread, that don’t like Florida and would like to leave. We have met a few people that feel that way, but only a few.

In reality this is the case for most people in every State. Family personal ties, memories and friends usually keep people from moving. Everyone is different and many people live where I never would and they would not live where I do. That is just normal. I am happy if people are happy and healthy where they are.

Not for me.....
