My husband and I currently live in MN (Minneapolis) and can not handle another winter. We have one son still in high school so we won't be moving for another 2 years. We need to live somewhere where we can enjoy our backyard all year round.

The problem is my husband has worked a non-skilled job for the last 15 years and is in his late 50's. He wants to go back to school and is thinking of becoming a Vet Tech for a semi retirement job. We know his normal wage will be cut 75% but he will be retiring and we have planned for that. I will need to continue to work (another 8 to 10 yrs) as the main bread winner (Management and Retail Skills). What is the average 2 -3 BR house price and can I find jobs in the 60-80K range? We are not opposed to living inland.

We have been going to Southern Florida for years but we would like to find an area that has a bit more of a seasonal change. We are coming for our first visit to the Panhandle in October of this year. I would like to have a plan on the best areas to research.

I would appreciate any advice or help.
