Northeast Florida beaches (Fernandina Beach or anywhere on Amelia Island). West coast beaches have nice sand but that's about it.

Not the most beautiful in the traditional sense, but my absolute favorite: the shoreline shared between Mayport Navy Base and Hannah Park in Jax. Wonderful memories surfing there, best days were when I was nearly alone in the winter months while most of the crowds were south at the Poles. Also spent many beach days there with my family when the kids were still babies.

I would never share what my favorite beach is because all of you freeloaders would end up showing up!

Nice views, etc, but too much rock on the beach on Amelia Island. Destin has the best for sand for sure, but others have nicer settings and views. depends on what a person favors. the best thing ... they have nice comfortable warm, not hot, water.

It is far more dangerous to drive to the beach than worry about sharks.

I am at the beach in Volusia County in the shark capital of the County 3 to 4 times a week and ... the only shark I have seen was caught by a fisherman.

Shark attacks are one of the most-feared natural dangers to man, even though you’re more likely to die of the flu, a dog (or bee, wasp, snake, bear or alligator) attack, falling down, fireworks, drowning and many other less-feared risks.
You are more likely to die of a lightning strike than a shark attack in the United States.

You’re also more likely to live to be 100, be born with extra fingers or toes, make a hole-in-one, be hit by a comet or asteroid or be injured by a toilet than be attacked by a shark, according to the scientists behind The Fisheries Blog.

Here's my son on a dive out of Jupiter Inlet with a bunch of tourists. Bulls, Silkies, Sandbar sharks and the usual freeloaders.
