You can joke about this all you want, but remember that Andrew was NOT suppose to hit South Dade and it turned at the last minute and decimated the communities of Homestead, Florida City, Cutler Ridge, Pincrest, Palmetto Bay and Kendall. Turned their homes into piles of toothpicks. So please don't get too complacent!

The Abacos Islands will be decimated. So sad. We can all breathe a sigh of relief if this monster passes Florida without making landfall.

The poor people are the very ones who will take the brunt of this. The Haitians living in shanties in the Mud in Marsh Harbour will lose all of the very little that they have. This will be a tragedy that won't get any coverage.

I look at the Weather Channel as purely a source of entertainment, not real information.

I used to watch TWC 20 years ago when it showed the weather. Same as I used to watch MTV when it played music.

Andrew's and Charley's quick turns are always on my mind.

Remember many fled south to Homestead and got hit there.

Haven't put up shutters yet--but keeping an eye on the wind. And we'll still be losing power on the east coast.
