15,000. A quick search on Google would suggest otherwise, “buddy.”

What would you recommend?
Panama City Beach, hands down. Full of young people. I'd be there in a nano second if I wasn't stuck in Hellando.

Don't go to to Miami...worst decision you ever made.

I agree with the others who said $50K isn't enough to live in a decent area anywhere in Florida.

Exactly, I never said Tampa’s downtown had more in it. So what are you getting at? I just said they didn’t have the same population and you just proved my point lol.

But they do pretty much have the same population. In the 15,000-20,000 range.
I was simply making a statement in response to the claim that St-Pete "has twice the population." It doesn't. The 3 downtowns are roughly the same. Are you high?

Actually Orlando has more by a good Margin, I have no clue where you’re getting that 20k from

You absolutely need a car here. Gasoline is cheap here compared with Chicago. Like other posters have stated $50k here is jack schitt in most areas. You’ll likely need a side hustle or roommates if you don’t want to live poorly and just scrape by. Anyplace that is genuinely walkable is going to cost well above what your salary allows or will have so much crime you’ll essentially be a prisoner in your own home. Public transit as you are used to in a large city like Chicago is nearly non-existant unless you are in South Florida which brings it’s own host of problems. (Think being stuck in endless >25 mph traffic jams on I-95 for no reason at all caused by a bunch of New Yorkers that got their first car and driver’s license the same time they began collecting their social security check. 4 hours from Miami to Hollywood on some days. No joke). Any area that will allow you to live fairly well on $50k will almost certainly be somewhere in central Florida which is probably not what you are looking for. Maybe try Gainesville or a few miles outside of it.
