Have no been here all my life but in Fl since 1973 and at a young age and I agree with you

I'm concerned about the new commercial Salmon farms coming to FLA. They'll suck millions of gallons of fresh water from our aquafurs. I hope th Florida EPA knows what they are doing with those.

The Rock Star is at it again...the first Green Republican Florida Governor...Ron DeSantis!

Improving water quality and acknowleging climate change in all future coastal building permits.

And, as a sidenote, he just increased starting Teacher wages a LOt, bringing Florida near the top of the class.

I know an ex-poster here from Sarasota that would applaud our Governors actions...I'll bet he'll read this post though! Hi...miss you, c'mon back.

He is NO LONGER a great governor lol... just like Trump is NO LONGER a great president.

They are the biggest domestic terrorists we've seen in the past couple decades. Bin Laden is smiling ear to ear that together they killed more Americans then he ever dreamed.

Weren't you the one proclaiming DeSantis was doing such a "great job" with the Coronavirus response too? Also touting Trump and his Trump Drug? Kind of hard to believe someone who has yet to be right about anything here publicly.

DeSantis' line item veto list apparently included a ton of water/sewer improvement projects that would have helped improve water quality in many parts of the state. Give the huge drop in sales tax revenue from March onward, hard decisions and cuts had to be made somewhere and that was one area he chose to make them in the name of maintaining other areas like K-12 teacher raises, so I'd call the real result pretty mixed despite the pretty talk at the press conference.

Beachmouse is correct. Big press conferences were held for approved bills that would prove to be popular while you have to scour the news to see the things that were vetoed in the quiet hours. Apparently, the libraries serving colleges are at risk now with their accreditation because of a program cut, some mental health services cut, an online college program used by the universities and colleges cut. And the teacher raises despite mostly benefiting new teachers was counteracted with cuts to state retirement funding, shifting more of the burden to local agencies.

Again, tough choices either way, but politicians do what politicians do.
