According to one report based on blood serum examinations, the US has reached herd immunity, largely through natural infection, including extrapolations of unreported asymptomatic cases, and of course boosted by the vaccination program.

Obviously that has been the strategy all along everywhere, not just in one US State or one country. The US and UK seem to have fared better in terms of the boost to herd immunity from vaccinations, but it seems that UK right now is caught up in the delta variant from India, the US less so.

I am disappointed that Florida has stopped publishing daily detailed reports, but I suppose the rationale is that the most vulnerable people have already been infected and died or recovered.

Seems now that the overall death rate, including extrapolations of unreported asymptomatic cases, is around 0.4%, still around four times as deadly as the flu, but perhaps not enough to continue to be newsworthy every single day. I have my doubts, but it is what it is.

Stay Vigilant and Good Luck!

Florida appears to have had a "stealth update" on the worldometers website. I made this term up to mean that the Total Cases and Total Deaths numbers changed but no New Cases nor New Deaths have been reported since last Friday.

Maybe this is simply a worldometers website bug?

Date...........Total Cases..... Total Deaths
Fri 6/18........ 2,356,248.... 37,555
Wed 6/23...... 2,361,605.... 37,656

Difference ..... 5,357......... 101

ps. now when I look at worldometers and click on Yesterday, I see 1679 New Cases and 71 New Deaths yet these numbers aren't supported in any calculations from last Friday's numbers. Remember that Gov DeSantis said that Florida will only be reporting numbers once a week on Fridays.

There was another stealth update sometime after yesterday's (6/24/21) numbers and today's reporting. Our governor said reports would only be done on Fridays so I'm not sure why there were 2 updates yesterday.

Date...........Total Cases..... Total Deaths
Thurs 6/24....2,363,489....37,679
Fri 6/25........2,367,296....37,772
Difference from yesterday
Difference ........3807..........85

Difference from last Friday since Florida is only supposed to be reporting on Fridays lol

Fri 6/18.......2,356,248.....37,555
Fri 6/25.......2,367,296.....37,772
Difference....11,048........217 Is Florida winning yet? Other states are reporting hundreds of cases a day, not thousands....

I understand that. But California and Texas are reporting daily numbers in the hundreds, Florida is reporting daily numbers in the thousands. I'm just typing what I see on Worldometers.

Another stealth update - Tuesday, June 29, 2021, remember Gov DeSantis said numbers would only be reported on Fridays.

Date.............................Total Cases.....Total Deaths
Fri 6/25 (Reported)......... 2,367,296......37,772
Tues 6/29 (Reported)...... 2,371,220......37,817

Difference (Unreported) .....+3924...........+45

Reported means the Total Case and Total Death numbers have increased between the 2 dates. Unreported difference means this number has not been reported as New Cases and New Deaths on the Worldometers website.
