Here's what the Mayo Clinic says about the COVID vaccines. Note that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are both fully approved for adults. Long-term side effects are reported as rare, and typically resolve themselves quickly with treatment and rest.

By contrast, persons who contract COVID-19 are at risk of long COVID, especially if hospitalized, IF they survive the infection. Persons can listen to you, and avoid vaccination, or listen to medical professionals, and lower the risks of COSTLY hospitalizations and possible death, and, more likely serious long-term consequences such as POTS (see below).

<<Millions of people worldwide live with long COVID, a condition characterized by symptoms of COVID-19 and other syndromes months after the initial illness has subsided. One aspect of particular concern is its cardiovascular implications, including a rise in postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and increased cardiovascular disease risk....

It is unclear how many people around the world live with long COVID. However, one study that is yet to undergo peer review estimates that as of August 2021, about 43% of people who tested positive for COVID-19, and more than half of those who received hospitalized care for this disease, ended up developing long COVID.

The results of a survey published in eClinicalMedicineTrusted Source in July 2021 indicate that long COVID causes an array of diverse symptoms that “affect multiple organ systems, with impact on functioning and ability to work....”

A study that appeared in Nature MedicineTrusted Source in February 2022 goes so far as to suggest that people who develop COVID-19 have an increased risk of experiencing cardiovascular problems a year after the initial disease.>>

There are substantial, life-changing risks to declining COVID vaccines, far, far outweighing the probability of severe consequences of vaccine side effects.

https://www.nbcnews.com/investigatio...arly-rcna17942

Peer-reviewed research is disrespected by anonymous anti-vaxxers who post their baloney on social media with no concern about the consequences to persons who act foolishly by deeming their anti-vaxxer trash as credible.

Medical science is overwhelming in promoting the benefits of COVID vaccines versus the risks of avoiding available vaccines.

Critically ill, mechanically ventilated patients with COVID-related acute kidney injury (AKI) were at high risk for lasting kidney issues, according to a retrospective case-control study.

Hilarious. You demand "reputable sources" and then post links to the CDC and NBC.

On topic of vaccination, here is the FDA hearing on 4th dose:

Go to 5:34:40 where Dr Peter Doshi discusses serious ethical breaches during the Pfizer clinical trials and little FDA overview. After him, there will be several testaments by the vaccine injured.

CDC has an agenda, and even admitted in March to not publishing its booster data in adults because (their words) it would give a “false” impression to the public it wasn’t efficacious.

Sources like NBC often just parrot CDC and random “fact” checkers without really doing any investigative reporting.

With traditional media, Fox News and WSJ have been the most balanced and Vanity Fair (on lab leak) has been excellent.

But in reality the best sources are all of them and then use your own brain to piece together the truth from the half truths

<<Over the past few months, Australia — Western-allied, democratic Australia — has become a byword among conservatives for an over-the-top approach to combating the coronavirus pandemic. The government there has used aggressive vaccine mandates, quarantines, border restrictions and lockdowns to keep Covid-19 deaths below 3,000 people in a country of 25 million, with some trade-offs in personal freedoms....

  • That same month, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida mused aloud: “Is Australia freer than China, communist China, right now? I don’t know. The fact that that’s even a question tells you something has gone dramatically off the rails with some of this stuff.”
  • On Sept. 30, Tucker Carlson, the Fox News host, devoted 12 minutes of his show to Australia, documenting its supposed slide into authoritarianism. “One moment the English-speaking world is mocking China for being dystopian and autocratic,” he warned. “The next moment they’re aping China and hunting people down who are two blocks from their homes and smoking a cigarette.”
  • Two months later, Carlson referred to a quarantine facility in Darwin, Australia, as a “Covid concentration camp.”>>

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/18/u...australia.html

In earlier posts in this thread, I've documented how Australia has survived the COVID pandemic with much less severe consequences and significantly less economic impact than the U.S., and most especially Florida. E.g., throughout the pandemic, about half of the Australian population and sometimes the entire country, had extraordinarily minimal COVID infections. Children didn't have to miss school or wear masks, nor worry about hospitalization, deaths, and long COVID impacts for the rest of their lives, as in states with backward, anti-scientific politicians such as dominate in Florida. Why didn't Fox News report these facts, while bashing Australia?

Let's catch up. Australia has seen cases and deaths soar since it relaxed late in 2021 its COVID controls after achieving extraordinarily high vaccination rates compared to the U.S. Tucker Carlson must be ecstatic. Australia's conservative government caved on pandemic controls just in time for the omicron surge and despite suddenly rising infection rates.

https://www.worldometers.info/corona...try/australia/

https://www.reuters.com/business/hea...ls-2022-01-11/

Yet, Australia's total cases have been 198,014 per million residents, and deaths have been 254 per million.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries

Science-bashing Florida, whose COVID policies are adored by Carlson and Fox in general, has reported 275,256 cases per million and deaths of 3,426 per million.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

Scrolling over the interactive total deaths graph here, since November 30, 2021, Florida's deaths per million have increased by 530, compared to Australia's deaths per million of 254 for the entire pandemic. Has Fox News, or any U.S. media source, reported any of this???

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/florida/

As Australia's cases largely occurred after the country was highly vaccinated and after the introduction of antibody treatments and now antiviral treatments, Australia's incidence of long COVID also likely is a fraction of the rate in Florida, as the incidence and severity of long COVID is less in COVID cases not resulting in hospitalization.

Anybody with even a quarter of an intellect will ignore the Big Lie anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers, whose false reality is a prescription for death, costly hospitalization and other medical treatments, and perhaps life-long consequences of long COVID, and get vaccinated and boosted whenever possible.

BTW, the current inflation rate in the U.S. largely is a consequence of the poor management of the COVID epidemic in the U.S., largely due to Trump administration and Republican partisan deceit, and the failure of the Biden administration to reestablish fully effective public health policies and to publicize the impact of long COVID. Inflationary labor shortages as measured by the still lagging employment rate (not unemployment rate) in the U.S., result to some significant degree from long COVID disabilities.

I wouldn't want to live in Australia. I have a friend there whose a major wine grower, and he goes back and forth between Australia and the Maldives (where has a resort). He needed to get permission from the Australian government to leave, permission.

But if you're intent to compare Australia to Florida, to well bash Florida. Why not compare Australia to California or NY or NJ etc and you'd get similar results? Or even Hawaii.

This should tell you that comparing Australia to the USA is well, not comparable!

If you see my links from the previous post you will know that getting vaccinated means you risk Long COVID-like syndrome from every dose, and then you risk it again once you catch COVID.

Let's summarize why it's stupid to get vaccinated to avoid Long COVID

--You risk Long COVID type syndrome from every dose of the vaccine. No matter how 'rare; this is, since the CDC is already on recommending a 4th dose, getting these doses is not rare!

--Especially with Omicron, vaccine efficacy in preventing you catching COVID is basically 0. This means you can count on getting a breakthrough infection even if vaccinated and boosted.

--Finally, once you have a breakthrough infection, your odds of getting Long COVID are more or less the same as if you were not vaccinated.

I will let the reader think which makes logical sense
