Back to my questions...based on the area below

Jacksonville Beach areas (Atlantic, Jax, Neptune, Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra)

1) Any one of those beach towns NOT recommended? Major differences?
2) Pros and Cons of living on the beach instead of 10-15 min inland?

- Fernandina & Yulee seem a bit too slow for my family but we will still visit and see for ourselves

Another area I may look into is Jupiter. If anyone has experience in this area feel free to share

There's something magical about living a block from a public access point to the beach. But keep in mind that even though JAX is at lower risk for hurricanes than a lot of the state, the threat is still there. When we moved to the Panhandle, we rented right at the beach for a couple years, even had a sliver of Gulf view from the master bedroom window that was great, but when it came time to buy, we went five miles inland and 40+ feet above sea level.

Forget about a Jupiter because you will need at least $1B (Billion) to live near the ocean.

- Do I want my children to feel completely isolated because the other kids and kid's parents belong to a different party? NO
- Do I want my family living in a town/county were the fiscal/social/public policies are not in line with mine? NO

For example, the state I currently live almost passed a law mandating vaccines in order for anyone, kids & adults to attend schools, whether private or public. Luckily we fought hard for weeks at the state's house and the law didn't not pass, mostly thanks to the Republican Senators.

You may feel different about vaccines, but thats just one example. At the end of the day I have come to understand most issues are rooted in this simple fact: Republicans will fight for you to preserve your constitutional rights and minimal government intervention while Democrats will, with the excuse of Public Health, Public Safety, Environment, Inequality, among others, take away all your freedoms and have control of pretty much everything in your life. NO THANK YOU!

That being said, I have been exploring more and more the entire St John's County & JAX. JAX being a larger city seems more complex. Any residential areas in JAX worth exploring that are closer to the beaches? Anything in particular i should take into consideration while exploring Sawgrass, Nocatee, Ponte Vedra & St Augustine?

I know prices seem a bit higher than what I originally wanted but it could be a compromise if everything else clicks.

Lastly would you say the weather in these area is less humid than further South in Jupiter or West in Naples?
Less humidity would be a plus for my wife
About the humidity. No place in Florida escapes humidity. All of Florida gets sea breezes. The closer you are to the beach, the more breeze. JAX gets cooler temperatures at night during the winter than South Florida. Florida is hot May-Oct. The humidity is oppressive.

In regard to the three bullet points you cite at the top the answer to all is "then you would be best in a middle of the road atmosphere." Open minded people make better neighbors.

The other thing I would point out to you regarding your requirement for safety is that speaking on a statewide level in most cases the safer states are the blue states and the higher crime states are the red states. Whether that trend continues down to the local level is something that may be of enough interest to you to decide which you would care to sacrifice. The same is true regarding the topic of education - left leaning states generally have better schools; again it may take some investigation to see if this distills down to the local level to the extent it may matter to you.

The entire state is humid; if you are near the ocean or gulf you at least have the breezes. Jupiter is nice; mostly very upscale. You don’t need millions to live there, but compared to the Jacksonville area, real estate is far more expensive. It can be quiet. Whenever we visited, we’d always wind up in Palm Beach Gardens for shopping and dining.

I love the beaches in Jupiter and St. Augustine the best though. They both allow dogs and it’s so much fun.

Naples is nice too but very pricey, unless you look at real estate to the east of the city. The gulf had prettier water and sand but red tide is common during certain parts of the year and that’s not a lot of fun. My last experience with red tide was in Jupiter actually. It caused respiratory problems and wrecked havoc with my allergies.

Red tide and other algae blooms can show up in waters in any part of the state, though many areas can go years without an issue. Unlike the (obscenity redacted) pine pollen, which arrives every single spring right at the time the weather is otherwise nice enough you want to have the windows open for a good stretch of time.

Personally after spending the past 12 years in the most blue city of one of the most blue states in the country. I have come to a conclusion quite opposite from yours. You and many others may feel different about it but that matters very little to me now.

I would like to ask you and many others who come to this post to refrain yourselves from pushing your political agenda or suggesting a place not inline with my current political interest. I was pretty clear on what I want based on the title. It's a waste of your time and mine.
